I'm looking for Project Leads that have minimum 5 years of management experience, good knowledge of project methodologies, SDLCs and have managed large projects on their own, specifically some of that management experience
involving infrastructure activities such as server/hardware/network set-up and acquisition. Knowledge of applications development projects and how the infrastructure components directly relate to those applications projects is critical.
PROJECT LEAD INFRASTRUCTURE DEVELOPMENT
Project Background
The Project Lead will work under the direction of a Project Manager. They will be responsible for the planning, execution, and completion of assigned information systems projects or activities, specifically around the infrastructure components.
The Project Lead has no direct reports but is responsible for planning and supervising the infrastructure resources assigned to the project for the duration of the project.
Working for the Infrastructure Development organization, this project lead may
manage their own project(s) or play more of a coordination role between the
Infrastructure team and the Applications Development team needing our resources.
In either case, the Infrastructure PM will be responsible for successful completion
of all infrastructure resource activities
Qualifications
- At least 7 years of I/S related work experience, including 4 or more years performing project leadership / project management responsibilities.
- Some positions will require experience with E-Commerce related systems.
- Experience with SDLC and PM methodologies is required.
- Clarity and Open Workbench experience, preferred.
- Experience with Infrastructure related projects preferred.
- PMP Certification not required, but sound knowledge of project planning principles is required.
- Experience managing large development and infrastructure projects; ability to juggle multiple projects.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Pro-active; demonstrates accountability to assigned project(s).
- Demonstrated success in implementing projects and managing projects from end-to-end.
- Builds relationships with stakeholders and team members.
Job Responsibilities include:
- Ensures business objectives and project scope are clearly defined, understood, and approved by IS Management, the Project Sponsor, and other project participants.
- Works with IS Management in developing project schedules for assigned projects.
- Develops detailed project costs including development resources, hardware requirements, and purchased software requirements.
- Develops detailed project plans to meet the project objectives and scope.
- Coordinates staffing needs with appropriate resource managers to ensure resource availability for project(s).
- Reviews project plans with IS Management, the development team, Project Sponsor, and participants so that key milestones and critical path activities are understood by all.
- Tracks actual resource usage against planned and takes steps necessary to ensure the project stays on track.
- Manages the scope and change control of project to ensure project milestones are not impacted without approval from IS Management and Project Sponsor.
- Responsible for the quality, content, and objectivity of all deliverables produced within the assigned project or support area.
- Facilitates communication among team members through project team meetings or other means as appropriate for the project.
